Pomeranians have a good amount of energy, but they are not over-the-top or unmanageable. After a bout of play, they will be calm and easy to live with. Give them room to run around and spend time teaching them tricks every day. A few chew toys and human company are all this little dog needs to be happy.

Pomeranians are not shy and will go up to other animals and strangers easily. Because of this, you need to be careful that they don’t approach potentially aggressive dogs who could hurt them. 

As the seasons change Pomeranians may shed. Since they are so small it doesn’t seem to be a big deal for most families. With proper grooming, the shedding will be minimal and controllable.

Because they have a double coat and lots of fur, you should brush your Pomeranian several times a week. This shouldn’t take a lot of time and is a good bonding experience for you and your fur baby. When using a medium bristled brush you will be able to get to their undercoat without hurting them. Run it thoroughly through the coat at least 3 times a week to keep it tangle free and to minimize shedding.
